This week, the Girls have been involved in an IATA runway safety workshop, focusing on runway excursions and how to prevent them
The Girls arrived at the conference and got put in groups to discuss scenarios on runway excursions and incursions, based on the exercise, the outcome analysis was that, runway excursions and incursions generally occur through a combination of factors such as planning, infrastructural, maintenance, meteorological and can it was observed that the runway excursion rate can be addressed in Africa through the implementation of multi disciplinary runway safety teams. The day after this, We run a safety training at the airfield for all staff and some selected visitors.
